Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 75 g gherkins
- 75 g onion(s)
- 30 g butter
- 20 g sugar
- 2 tbsp curry powder (heaped tbsp)
- 500 g tomatoes, pureed
- 250 g ketchup
- 35 g tomato paste
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sambal oelek
- ½ tsp beef broth, instant
- 10 ml apple cider vinegar
- 4 sausages (curry sausages)
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Zanzibar Style
Finely dice the cucumbers and onions—really finely! Melt the butter in a saucepan. Briefly sauté the onions and cucumbers. Add the curry powder. After about another minute, add the remaining ingredients and heat through. Season to taste with more curry powder and sambal oelek, if desired. Serve the sauce with the sausages.
