Cut the spring onions correctly – that’s how it works
To cut the scallions properly, you need a very sharp knife and a cutting board.
- First, wash the spring onions thoroughly under running water.
- After drying the onion, remove the root end and any wilted or unsightly leaves.
- Then place the spring onions on a board and cut lengthwise – depending on what you want to use the onions – thicker or narrower slices.
- If you position the knife at a slight angle when cutting, the onion will be much easier to cut.
- Tip: Only cut the spring onions just before you want to use them.
