Bush bread
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl and add the sugar. Pour the liquid into a well and quickly mix everything with a knife to form a dough. Form the dough into a round loaf on a baking sheet, brush with milk, and dust with flour. Then, using a sharp knife, make cross-shaped cuts into the loaf. Bake the bread in a hot oven at approximately 200°C (top/bottom heat) for 45 minutes, until the crust is golden brown. To check if the bread is done, tap the bottom with your knuckle. If it sounds hollow, everything is okay. Originally, this white bread was baked in the hot ashes of a campfire without baking powder or milk, and usually without sugar too. Alternatively, you can use beer instead of milk and water, and adding grated cheese and various herbs is also very interesting.
