Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 head of red cabbage, approx. 1 kg
- 100 g lard
- 1 jar wine, red
- ½ cup vinegar (wine vinegar)
- 1 onion(s), finely diced
- 5 tbsp jelly (currant jelly)
- pepper
- Salt
- some cloves, ground
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Goes well with roast pork or game stew
Finely shred the red cabbage. Heat the lard, add the diced onions, and sauté briefly until translucent. Add the shredded red cabbage and all other ingredients, mix well, and simmer for about 1 hour. Season again with salt and pepper and serve.
