Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g peas, fresh, green (only in case of emergency as frozen)
  • 250 g bacon, streaky
  • 3 onions
  • 60 g lard
  • 1 bunch parsley, flat, chopped
  • 2 tbsp chervil, chopped
  • 1 tsp honey
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Medieval recipe

Clean the peas. Finely dice the streaky bacon and onions and sauté in the heated lard until translucent. As soon as the onions begin to brown, add the peas and mix well. After about 5 minutes, add the finely chopped herbs and honey. Cover and sauté for about 20 minutes, stirring frequently. Finally, season to taste and serve.
