Danny's spicy meat sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 2 large onions, diced
  • 1 stalk(s) leek, halved and cut into fine strips
  • 425 g chopped tomatoes (pizza tomatoes from a can)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper
  • 500 ml broth
  • 250 ml red wine, good

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

delicious minced meat sauce, not quite so Italian

Brown the diced onion and a little oil with the minced meat. Once it’s cooked all over, add the leek and let it roast a little. Deglaze with the red wine and stock, add the tomatoes and the bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper, and then simmer for about 40 minutes with the lid on. Season well again and serve with pasta. I like it best with spaghetti and a nice mixed salad.
