Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • ½ tbsp baking powder
  • ½ cup oil
  • ½ cup milk
  • 180 g dates
  • some butter
  • 1 egg(s), for brushing
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

African date cookies

Make a dough with flour, baking powder, oil, and milk. Roll out the dough and cut out circles. Chop the dates and roast them in hot butter. Place 1 teaspoon of the filling on each circle and fold the circles together in half. Place the rounds on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Beat the egg with the vanilla sugar and brush the rounds with it. Bake at 175°C until golden brown. Tip: You can use an upside-down glass to cut out the rounds.
