Dates in ham

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g dates
  • 200 g Black Forest ham
  • 4 tbsp sherry
  • 4 tbsp orange juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Pit the dates by cutting them lengthwise and removing the pits. Discard any dates with maggots, not just cut them out. Mix the sherry and orange juice and marinate the dates in it for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, trim the fat from the ham and cut it in half crosswise. Wrap the dates in the ham and place it seam-side down in a hot pan. Sear until the ham begins to lighten in color.
