Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg black pudding (red sausage)
  • 500 g sauerkraut
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 small garlic clove(s), finely chopped or squeezed
  • 1 tsp, leveled salt, more if desired
  • 1 tsp, levelled pepper, more if desired
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • some fat, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Finely chop the onions and sauté them in a pan. Then add the finely chopped red sausage (Rotwurst) and heat until combined. Then add the sauerkraut and season with salt, pepper, and the finely chopped or crushed garlic, if desired. Cook the whole thing in the pan over medium heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with boiled potatoes.
