Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 day-old rolls, diced
  • 400 ml milk
  • 400 g Leberkäse, coarse, diced
  • 5 eggs
  • ½ bunch parsley, picked from the stem
  • 200 g Emmental cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Fat for the casserole dish

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

with Leberkäse

Pour the milk over the bread cubes in a large bowl, fold in, and let them soften slightly. Preheat the oven to 180°C fan/convection oven. Whisk the eggs, parsley, and half of the cheese well, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Add nutmeg if desired. Add the Leberkäse and egg mixture to the bread in the bowl and mix well. Grease a suitable baking dish and pour the mixture into it. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the mixture. Bake in the oven for 35 minutes, then enjoy with a delicious salad.
