Mix the cheese, ham, onions, apple, and chives with mayonnaise until spreadable. Season with curry powder to your liking. It’s best to add a teaspoon at a time and taste. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread on baguette slices or on toast that has been previously toasted on one side under the grill. Place the bread under the grill until the cheese is melted and begins to bubble. Serve hot. Cutting the bread diagonally creates decorative triangles.
