Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 250 g rice (long grain rice)
- 500 g tomatoes, from the can
- 1 tsp, leveled paprika powder
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper
- 3 onions
- 2 garlic cloves

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Croatian rice side dish
Bring the rice to a boil in salted water (rice takes about 20 minutes to cook!). While the rice is cooking, finely chop the onions and garlic cloves. Sauté them in a pan with oil until golden brown. Then chop the canned tomatoes a little more and stir them in. Simmer in the covered pan over medium heat for about 15 minutes. Then add the paprika, salt, and pepper. Finally, stir in the rice and serve.
