Dobrubyanki – Bulgarian pastries

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cup(s) Bulgarian yogurt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 pack of sheep’s cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Combine the flour, yogurt, eggs, and baking soda. Crumble the feta cheese and mix in. Place small heaps of dough on a baking sheet with a spoon and poke holes into the dough with your fingers. Bake for 20-30 minutes, until the dobrubyanki are lightly golden. Then, as is typical in Bulgaria, enjoy for breakfast or any time of day.
