Doctors Told What Kind of Tea Should not be Drunk on an Empty Stomach

Drinking a drink on an empty stomach can lead to blood thinning. Tea has many beneficial properties that have a positive effect on the body.

However, doctors note that green tea should not be consumed on an empty stomach. In addition, you should avoid consuming this drink on an empty stomach.

Green tea contains tannins, which lead to increased production of gastric juice. This can cause pain, nausea, and eventually problems with stool. Drinking green tea on an empty stomach is especially not recommended for people suffering from peptic ulcer and acid reflux.

Green tea also reduces the body’s absorption of protein, which helps blood clotting. Drinking the drink on an empty stomach can lead to blood thinning, and therefore it is not recommended for people with blood clotting disorders.

“People with anemia are not recommended to consume green tea on an empty stomach, as the drink can reduce the body’s ability to absorb iron,” doctors say.

The caffeine contained in green tea stimulates the adrenal glands, which secrete stress hormones. This increases blood pressure and heart rate.

Accordingly, people with heart problems should avoid this drink on an empty stomach. Moreover, systematic consumption of green tea on an empty stomach can lead to disruption of the adrenal glands.

It is best to drink tea with something – fruit or whole-grain cookies.
