Which People Should Not Drink Green Tea – Nutritionist’s Explanation

A long-time leader in the group of tonic drinks, green tea turns out to be not so useful and extremely good for everyone or any person.

It has long been believed that green tea is one of the best tonic drinks. This was stated by the famous nutritionist Svetlana Fus on her Instagram page. However, expert says that some people should not drink green tea.

According to her, green tea is rich in antioxidants, B vitamins, mineral salts, tannin, and caffeine. The drink performs cleansing and bactericidal functions.

However, in some cases, green tea can be harmful to health, the expert notes. For example, pregnant women should not drink a lot of tea and make a strong brew, as it contains caffeine and interferes with the absorption of folic acid. For the same reason, it should not be consumed by people suffering from glaucoma and hypertension.

The main substance of green tea (tannin) affects the level of iron in the body, and also negatively affects the absorption of calcium and magnesium. In this regard, the expert recommends consuming green tea, not during meals, but an hour after them. In addition, tannin can irritate the mucous membrane. And, accordingly, green tea should not be drunk by those who suffer from stomach ulcers or duodenal diseases.
