American doughnuts

Cream the butter with the eggs and sugar. Stir in the milk, pudding powder, salt and nutmeg. Mix the flour with the baking powder and gradually knead it into the dough. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1 cm and cut out doughnut rings using a doughnut cutter. If you don’t have one, you can also use a round cutter about 7 cm in diameter. Cut a small circle out of the center of each doughnut to create rings. Heat the oil in a deep fryer and fry the doughnuts until golden brown. Drain the doughnuts and coat them in sugar. Serve immediately. Each piece should contain about 149 kcal.
