Movie burgers inspired by the film “Dr. Strangelove”
Soak the chickpeas overnight in plenty of cold water, then drain in a sieve. Finely dice the onion and garlic. Roughly chop the parsley. In a tall bowl, blend the prepared ingredients with the flour, baking powder, 1-2 tablespoons of water, cumin, cardamom, chili powder, salt, and pepper using a food processor until medium-fine. Mix the yogurt, lemon juice, and tahini and season with salt and pepper. Pick the herb leaves. Clean and wash the spring onions, cut them diagonally into thin slices, and place them in cold water for five minutes. Crumble the feta cheese. Place the sesame seeds on a plate. With moistened hands, form two patties from the chickpea mixture. Press them into the sesame seeds on all sides. Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan. Fry the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side. Drain on kitchen paper. Meanwhile, divide the flatbread into two pieces and bake in the preheated oven. Then cut in half horizontally and spread the yogurt on the bottom halves. Layer the patties, herbs, and half of the feta cheese on top. Drizzle with the chili sauce, scatter the remaining feta cheese and spring onions on top, and top with the bread lids.
