Drunken mushrooms

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 16 large mushrooms
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • 150 ml milk
  • 150 ml beer, light (preferably Pils)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pepper
  • Parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Clean the mushrooms and trim the stems slightly. Mix the eggs, flour, milk, beer, salt, and pepper into a batter and let it rest for about 1 hour. Heat oil or frying fat (approx. 160°C). Dip the mushrooms in the batter until they are completely coated, then fry them in the fat until golden brown. These mushrooms are great for stir-frying or grilling. Or serve as a vegetarian dish with a delicious mixed salad.
