Kniddelen made easy

In a large bowl, mix the flour with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and parsley or chives. Add the eggs and a good splash of milk. Mix the mixture well. Gradually add the milk until a tough dough forms. Meanwhile, bring 2 liters of salted water to a boil. Drop in the dough a tablespoon at a time. The dumplings are cooked when they float to the top. They’re especially delicious with a sprinkling of bacon. They’re a great accompaniment to stuffed tomatoes or lightly fried with meatballs.
