Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 pack of diced bacon
  • 1 bag(s) cheese, grated
  • 1 bag of sauerkraut
  • e.g. milk
  • 500 g potatoes
  • salt water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Baked mashed potatoes

Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water as usual. Mash them with a little milk, but not too finely, rather coarsely. Then I use small casserole dishes—one for each person, which makes a great serving dish; you can also use a large one, of course. I fill the dishes with the potato mixture, then spread the sauerkraut, then the bacon, and finally the cheese over the mash. The whole thing goes into the oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes, until the cheese has a nice brown color.
