Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 eggs
  • 250 ml cream
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 100 g smoked streaky bacon (diced)
  • 1 large onion(s), diced
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda, medium-aged), in one piece
  • 1 bunch chives (rolls)
  • 20 g butter
  • 50 g breadcrumbs

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 200°C. Fry the bacon in a pan, then remove it and sauté the diced onions in the bacon fat until translucent. Place the bacon and onions in a baking dish. Cut the cheese into small cubes and add it to the baking dish. Whisk the eggs with the cream, chives, and seasoning and pour into the baking dish. Place the dish in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, then dot with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes. Serve with bread and a salad.
