Dutch tomato toast

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 6 slices of toast
  • 60 g herb butter
  • 6 slices of cooked ham
  • 6 slice(s) cheese, (Gouda), young
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Chop the spring onions and add them to a pot of boiling water. Blanch for about 1 minute. Rinse with cold water and let drain. Slice the tomatoes. Toast the bread and spread with herb butter, then place on a baking sheet. Place a folded slice of ham on each slice of toast. Distribute the spring onions and tomatoes on top and season with salt and pepper. Halve the cheese slices and place them on the bread. Bake at 220°C (preheated) for about 10 minutes.
