Ingredients
- 1 kg Flour, type 550
- 2 piece Eggs
- 150 g Butter
- 1 piece Yeast cubes
- 500 ml Milk
- 0,5 tsp Salt
- 100 g Sugar
- 1 piece Lemon untreated
- 100 g Raisins
- 100 g Almond sticks
- 80 g Lemon peel
- 4 tbsp Orange liqueur
- 1 piece Egg for brushing
- Flour for processing
Instructions
- Mix the raisins with the orange liqueur and soak for a while.
- Dissolve the yeast in a little lukewarm milk and stir with a pinch of sugar. Put the flour in a bowl, form a well and add the dissolved yeast, mix with a little flour, dust with flour and let rise in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
- Heat the rest of the milk, melt the butter in it and add to the flour with the eggs, sugar, salt, lemon zest, soaked raisins, lemon peel and sliced almonds. Knead everything together. If the dough is still too soft, add a little flour until it comes off the edge of the bowl. Let the dough rise for approx. 45 minutes.
- Dust your hands with flour and form either two loaves or four small ones from the dough, place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and cut crosswise. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Whisk an egg with a little salt and sugar. Brush the Easter bread with it. Bake in the oven preheated to 175 ° C (top / bottom heat) for approx. 50 - 55 minutes.
