Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 600 g flour
- 40 g yeast
- ¼ liter milk, lukewarm
- 100 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 60 g sugar
- ½ lemon(s), grated peel
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 egg white
- 40 g powdered sugar
- n. B. food coloring
- Fat, for the tray
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Lightly grease a baking sheet. Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the middle. Crumble in the yeast and mix with the milk and a little flour to form a starter dough. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes. Melt the butter and mix it with the eggs, salt, sugar, lemon zest, starter dough, and all the flour. Let rise for 30 minutes. Cut out stencils for the Easter bunnies from heavy-duty cardboard. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1 cm, use stencils to cut out Easter bunnies, brush with beaten egg yolk, and let rise for another 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 210°C. Bake the Easter bunnies on the middle rack for 10-15 minutes. Mix the egg whites with the powdered sugar and color with food coloring if desired. Decorate the Easter bunnies with the food coloring.
