Dried figs as a snack, energy boost, and gentle laxative

Dried figs have significantly more calories than their fresh equivalent. Drying increases their sugar content to almost 60 percent. But even in dried form, the fruit convinces with its effect.

  • When exercising, the delicious dried fruits are great as a healthy source of energy.
  • The fruits contain very little acid. They stimulate digestion and help against constipation.
  • This is how you can easily make a gentle laxative yourself: Cover 2 to 3 figs with a little water overnight and take them with the liquid in the morning.
