Elderberry schnapps

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 liters of elderberries
  • 2 liters of water
  • 1 kg sugar
  • some cloves
  • 2 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 500 ml schnapps (grain)

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Boil the berries and water for 1 hour, cool, and squeeze out the excess liquid. Stir the sugar into the juice, add the spices, and boil for another 45 minutes. Once cooled, stir in the schnapps, removing the spices first, season to taste, and bottle in sterilized bottles. The liqueur tastes best after a longer period of time. Usually after a year, but it can be enjoyed anytime.
