Sloe gin

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg sloes (harvested after the first frost)
  • 250 g sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla (vanilla, available specifically for liqueurs)
  • 1 liter of schnapps (fruit water)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

with fruit water or Obstler

Combine all ingredients in a suitable container and seal – i.e., just place the lid on top, not seal it airtight! Let it steep for approximately 6-8 weeks. Stir once a week to ensure the sugar is evenly mixed. After 6-8 weeks, strain the liqueur through a kitchen towel and pour into prepared bottles. The liqueur is then ready to enjoy. Tip: The longer the liqueur matures in the bottle, the better it tastes. Personally, I prefer sloe gin with fruit water – it has a slightly milder flavor.
