Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 large can of tomatoes, peeled (or 6 fresh tomatoes)
  • 4 onions
  • 3 bell peppers, green
  • 2 cans kidney beans
  • 1 can of corn
  • 2 bottles of chili sauce
  • 500 g minced beef
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • possibly cayenne pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Chili con Carne made quickly

Slice the tomatoes and thinly slice the onions, then add them to a large pot with a dash of chili sauce and simmer for 45 minutes. Dice the bell peppers and add them and simmer for another 15 minutes. Then add the drained kidney beans and sweetcorn and simmer for another 15 minutes. Brown the minced meat separately, seasoning with salt and pepper. Add it at the end and let the whole thing cook for another 20 minutes. Add a little chili sauce between each serving until both bottles are used up. Finally, season with salt, a pinch of sugar, and a little pepper. If the chili isn’t hot enough for you (depending on the sauce), you can add a little cayenne pepper. Serve with baguette. This chili can be prepared in advance and then heated up quickly, making it a great party snack.
