Fake Vietnamese Chicken Soup – Pho Ga

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1.2 liters of instant chicken broth
  • 400 g chicken breast
  • 150 g pasta
  • 400 g vegetables to taste
  • 1 piece(s) ginger root
  • 1 dashes fish sauce
  • 1 dash of soy sauce
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 bunch of coriander leaves
  • 100 g bamboo shoot(s) from the jar
  • 1 pinch(s) cinnamon powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cook the noodles according to the package instructions and set aside. Fry or boil the chicken in a pan or wok until cooked through, then tear into bite-sized pieces. Cook the chicken stock in a pot according to the package instructions. Peel the ginger and cut into small cubes. Season the stock with ginger pieces, fish sauce, soy sauce, chili flakes, and cinnamon powder. Add the cleaned vegetables, such as pak choi, zucchini, mushrooms, or similar, to the stock and cook until al dente. Arrange the noodles in a bowl, pour the stock and vegetables over it, and garnish with the meat, sprouts, and cilantro. Note: The ingredients can be found at any discount store, and the soup is very quick to prepare. It’s really only loosely based on Pho Ga and makes no claim to authenticity.
