Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour, type 812 (alternatively: 350 g flour type 550 and 150 g flour type 1050 mixed)
  • 2 tsp, leveled salt
  • 150 g cheese, grated Emmental
  • 1 sachet of dry yeast
  • 400 ml water, lukewarm
  • 100 g cheese, grated Gouda, for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Combine flour, salt, dry yeast, and Emmental cheese. Add the water and make a yeast dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size. Knead the dough again. Using a large spoon, separate the dough (the rolls won’t slide!) and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Sprinkle with grated Gouda cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
