Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g shallot(s), halved
  • 200 g mushrooms, halved
  • 125 g Camembert(s), diced
  • 100 g gherkins, sliced
  • ½ bunch marjoram, chopped
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 ml milk
  • 100 ml mineral water
  • 150 g flour
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 150 g ham (Katenschinken), diced
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Separate the eggs, whisk the egg yolks with the milk, mineral water, and flour until smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold in. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, fry the shallots and mushrooms. Add the ham and marjoram and fry briefly. Add 1 tablespoon of oil, pour the batter over the mixture, and let it set over medium heat. Tear it apart with two forks. Serve the Schmarren sprinkled with cucumber slices and cheese cubes.
