Fiery Virginia pan

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 pack of meat substitute (Wheaty Virginia Steaks), approx. 175 g
  • 1 m.-large bell pepper(s), red
  • 4 m.-large mushrooms, brown
  • 2 onions, red
  • 3 large tomatoes
  • 1 pepper, green
  • 200 g wholemeal spelt pasta
  • Olive oil for frying
  • 100 ml oat cream (Oat Cream Cuisine) or almond cream Cuisine
  • Salt

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

vegan, spicy and quick to prepare

Dice the Virginia steaks. Finely dice the onions. Deseed and slice the bell peppers. Cut the mushrooms into eighths. Deseed and slice the peppers into thin strips. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté all of the above ingredients. Meanwhile, heat salted water for the penne and dice the tomatoes. After about 5 minutes, add the tomatoes to the pan and continue sautéing over medium heat. Cook the pasta, drain, and add everything to the pan. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Tip: If this is too spicy for you, you can leave out the peppers, as the Virginia steaks are already quite spicy. Enjoy!
