simple and delicious

Wash the figs, remove the stems, and cut into eighths. Caramelize the sugar and butter in a saucepan and add the salt. When the caramel is golden brown, add the figs to the pan, stir them into the caramel, and remove the pan from the heat. When the figs are soft, roughly mash them with a potato masher and stir in the balsamic vinegar. Cut the ciabatta into approximately 1.5 cm thick slices and toast them in a grill pan without olive oil until the typical grill marks appear. Wash the spring onions and slice them thinly. Stir them with salt, lemon zest, cream cheese, and milk until smooth. Spread the cream cheese on the “Krustini” and drizzle the fig jam over the cream cheese. Tip: Serve with a chilled white wine or rosé and a few slices of smoked salmon—it’s heavenly.
