Filled chocolate croissants

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 bar of dark chocolate
  • 1 pack of puff pastry, from the refrigerated section, round, or 4 frozen puff pastry sheets
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp milk
  • 50 g cake icing, dark
  • Chocolate shavings

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the chocolate into small pieces. Cut the puff pastry into 6-8 (depending on your preference) “cake slices,” or thaw frozen puff pastry sheets and cut diagonally. Place the chocolate on the wide, back side of the cake slice. Roll and bend towards the tip into croissants. Mix the egg yolk and milk and spread on the croissants. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the cake glaze in a water bath and then drop thin strips of glaze onto the croissants using a teaspoon. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings. Tip: They also taste delicious filled with nougat chocolate, vanilla cream, or homemade jam.
