easy and fast

Cut a small top off the rolls and hollow them out. Finely chop the mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions, and press the sausage meat out of the skin. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the sausage meat together with the mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions until crumbly. Season with tomato paste, sugar, pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper or chili, if desired. Allow to cool briefly. In the meantime, mix the grated cheese with the egg and add it to the sausage meat and vegetables. Fill the rolls evenly with the mixture and place them on a baking tray. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 15 minutes. Sprinkle the cut-off tops with a little cheese, add them to the oven shortly before the end of the baking time, and bake. To serve, replace the tops on the rolls.
