Fine vanilla Americans

Spread the love

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 125 g butter, soft
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 packet of vanilla pudding powder
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 7 tbsp milk
  • 100 g dark chocolate coating
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Cream together the fat, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt until creamy, then add the eggs and mix in. Mix the flour with the baking powder and custard powder and stir into the egg yolk mixture along with 4-5 tablespoons of milk. Using tablespoons, place 5 heaping spoonfuls of half the batter onto the baking sheet and bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes. After 10 minutes, brush the tops of the American cookies with about 1 1/2 tablespoons of milk and finish baking. Remove the American cookies and let them cool on a wire rack. Bake about 5 more American cookies from the remaining batter. Roughly chop the chocolate coating and melt it in a double boiler. Mix the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and about 1/2-1 tablespoon of hot water to form a thick glaze. Cover the flat bottoms of 5 American cookies with chocolate, and the remaining cookies with the powdered sugar glaze. Let them dry thoroughly in a cool place.
