Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 250 g butter or margarine
- 125 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 drops of bitter almond flavor
- 4 eggs
- 250 g flour
- 2 tsp, leveled baking powder
- 150 g walnuts, ground
- 250 g walnuts for garnishing
- 150 g powdered sugar
- ½ tsp, leveled coffee powder
- 1 tbsp brandy
- 1 tbsp water, hot
- Grease for the tray
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Whisk together the fat, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, and bitter almond oil until frothy. Gradually add the eggs. Mix the flour with the baking powder, add it to the fat and sugar mixture along with the ground walnuts, and mix well. Spread the batter onto a greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (gas mark 4) on the middle rack for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. For the glaze, combine the icing sugar, instant coffee, brandy, and hot water. Brush the mixture onto the cooled pastry sheet. Cut into small 3 cm x 3 cm squares and place half a walnut on each cube.
