The perfect finger food – pizza snails my way recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the dough
- 250 g Wheat flour type 550
- 160 Milliliters Lukewarm water
- 1 packet Dry yeast
- 1 pinch Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
For covering
- 1 Onion blue
- 1 tablespoon Garlic oil
- 125 Milliliters Sieved tomatos
- 2 Tomatoes
- 10 piece Black pitted olives
- 6 drops Piri piri chili oil
- 1 Can Tuna
- 1 Pinch each Dried oregano
- Dried rosemary
- Dried thyme
- Dried basil
- Sea salt from the mill
- Black pepper from the mill
- 150 g Grated mozzarella
- 40 g Freshly grated Parmesan
- Weigh out the flour, place in a mixing bowl and make a well in the middle. Spread the olive oil and salt around it. In the well, put the lukewarm water, sugar and yeast together, add a little flour and let rise for 10 minutes before the complete dough is kneaded. After the dough is well kneaded, cover and let rise for at least 30 minutes.
- Allow the liquid from the tuna can to drain off. Peel the onion and cut into fine strips. Peel and core the tomatoes and dice them into small pieces. Cut the olives into small pieces. Season the tomatoes with the herbs.
- Let the onion sweat briefly in the garlic oil, add the tuna and mix. Add the strained tomatoes with herbs, stir and sauté briefly. Add tomato and olive pieces, season with salt, pepper and piri piri chili oil <<>> and mix. Then switch off the stove immediately and let it cool down a little.
- Preheat the oven to 215 ° C hot air. Grate the Parmesan cheese.
- Place the risen yeast dough on a floured work surface and roll out into a large rectangle about 0.5 cm thick. Cover the dough with the filling and spread it well, not covering the upper corner of the rectangle. Sprinkle with grated mozzarella and roll into a large roll.
- Carefully cut the roll with a sharp knife into 2.5 cm wide strips and place the snails on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Sprinkle with the rest of the mozzarella and freshly grated Parmesan and let rest for a few more minutes (10).
- Turn the oven down to 180 ° C hot air and bake the baking trays (since it made 18 pieces, I needed two trays) for 15 minutes. Then they should be ready too! Tastes good warm and cold … therefore suitable for a buffet, celebration, party. You can also prove it according to your own gusto! 😉
- Bon appetit !!! Bom Apetite !!!
