Fish: Catfish in Dress

The perfect fish: catfish in dress recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 piece Fresh catfish fillet
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 50 g Potato flour
  • 50 g Spelled flour type 630
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 0,5 teaspoon Black pepper from the mill
  • 2 Knife tips Red chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley
  • 50 ml Water
  • 1 liter Rapeseed oil
  1. Make a batter out of flour, potato flour, egg and the spices. Let it soak for about 30 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, cut the catfish fillet into bite-sized pieces and heat the oil in a saucepan. It’s the right temperature when tiny bubbles can be seen on a dipped wooden spoon.
  3. Pull the fish pieces through the batter and deep-fry them until golden yellow in the hot fat. Take out and drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve with a dip – here a garlic-yogurt dip (sauces: yogurt-garlic sauce) – and a side dish – here brown potatoes made from raw potatoes – on preheated plates.
