Fried red mullet

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 small fish(es) (red mullets), approx. 100 g each
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 8 sage leaves

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Basic and fast

If possible, have the red mullet scaled and gutted while you’re shopping. Once home, wash them again under cold running water and dry them with kitchen paper. Melt the butter in the largest pan in the house. Peel and finely chop the garlic. Season the melted butter with salt and pepper. Stir in the lemon juice, garlic, and sage leaves. Place the fish in the hot, seasoned butter and fry over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes. Carefully turn, then fry for another 4-5 minutes on the other side. Serve and eat fresh from the pan.
