Fl: Pork: Grützwurst with Mashed Potatoes and Applesauce

The perfect fl: pork: grützwurst with mashed potatoes and applesauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 Grützwurst
  • 4 size Apples
  • 1,5 kg Floury potatoes
  • 150 ml Milk
  • 50 g Butter
  • 0,5 bunch Chopped parsley until smooth
  • Salt
  • Black pepper from the mill
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  1. At our butcher there is finally fresh grützwurst again. Grützwurst is a winter dish and is served with and without raisins. My men like them with, I like them without. We know Grützwurst in our family with applesauce and mashed potatoes.
  2. First, peel, quarter, core and dice the apples. Bring to the boil with a cup of water and steam the apples over low heat, possibly work them briefly with the potato masher. Let cool down completely. When I eat the puree with hearty dishes, I do not use sugar in the preparation.
  3. Peel and dice the potatoes, cook in salted water until soft, drain. Stomp with a warmed myself, we like it a bit chunky, but everyone can work to their own taste. Put a good trick of butter in the mashed potatoes, season well with salt, pepper and grated nutmeg. Finally fold in the parsley.
  4. Briefly put the grützwurst in boiling water. Heat a pan and melt the butter in it. Dry the groats and fry in the pan on both sides over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side.
  5. Serve with mashed potatoes and applesauce. Then it gets a bit unsightly, but all the more delicious, because now the sausage is taken out of the skin and eaten with relish. I wish you a good appetite.
