Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g oat flakes, fine
  • 150 g oat flakes, wholegrain
  • 300 g butter or Alsan
  • 40 g beet syrup
  • 170 g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (vanilla essence)
  • some salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Oat bars

Preheat oven to 160°C fan/convection oven. Combine oats in a mixing bowl. Melt the remaining ingredients in a saucepan over low heat until smooth. Stir frequently as the fat begins to melt. The mixture should resemble thick syrup toward the end, no longer be grainy, and definitely not boiling. Add the smooth sugar mixture to the oats and mix well, then spread onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper, press down lightly, and bake for about 20 minutes. The color should not exceed a golden yellow – remove from the oven earlier if necessary. After baking, cut into bars while still hot and only then allow to cool.
