Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 260 g flour
- 100 ml milk, warm
- 120 g natural yogurt
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp dry yeast
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp oil
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- 40 g butter, melted
- e.g. coriander or onions, freshly chopped
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes
Mix 200g of flour with the salt, sugar, baking powder, and yeast, then add the yogurt and mix again. Gradually add the warm milk while kneading, then knead with the remaining flour until you have a smooth, non-stick dough. Cover the dough and let it rise for at least 1 hour, then lightly oil your hands and knead the dough briefly again. Divide the dough into 4 pieces, stretch each out on a floured surface, and flatten into flatbreads (do not roll them out). Spread the chopped garlic and, if desired, some onion and/or coriander on top. Brown the bottoms of the flatbreads in a non-stick pan without oil, then grill the flatbreads at 200°C for 2-5 minutes until the tops are lightly browned. Finally, spread the butter on the finished naan breads and serve.
