5 delicious sauces for a cozy fondue – Food
For the basic sauce, put the yogurt, sour cream, crème fraîche, and mayonnaise in a bowl and mix well. Divide the mixture into 5 equal portions. For the onion sauce, dice a small onion very finely. Mix this well with the first part of the basic sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste (Caution! The full flavor only emerges over time). For the cucumber sauce, dice the gherkins very finely. Mix these well with the second part of the basic sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and a little of the cucumber juice. For the garlic sauce, press the garlic cloves and mix well with the third part of the basic sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. (Caution! The full flavor only emerges over time). For the horseradish sauce, mix the horseradish with the fourth part of the basic sauce. Season with salt and pepper. For the cranberry sauce, thoroughly mix the cranberry jelly with the fifth and last part of the base sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Note: I always prepare the sauces the day before. This allows them to infuse nicely. This is especially beneficial for the first and third sauces.
