Ingredients for 5 servings:
- 6 potatoes, waxy
- 4 beetroot, pickled
- 1 apple
- 1 bunch of spring onions
- e.g. mayonnaise
- 1 bunch of parsley
- 1 pack of matjes fillet(s) in rapeseed oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Peel and boil the potatoes. Meanwhile, cut the herring fillets into small slices. Peel 1 apple and coarsely grate it into strips. Grate the cooked potatoes into strips as well. Grate 4-6 beetroots into strips. Finely slice the spring onions. First, arrange the herring slices on a large plate. Then scatter the spring onions over them. Then add the potato strips. Then the apple strips. Now the beetroot strips. Please note that everything needs to be arranged like a covering layer, as this is a layered salad! Now cover everything lavishly with mayonnaise and garnish with parsley. Let the salad rest in the refrigerator for a while; that’s when it tastes best!
