Can I actually freeze parsley?
A very good question that I am sure many are asking themselves. Because parsley is one of the most popular kitchen herbs. It tastes particularly good in salads or dips or as a topper for meat, fish and vegetables. The parsley is harvested in late spring. With a particularly successful yield, however, the question arises: What is the best way to store the parsley so that it can be kept for as long as possible?
Can you freeze parsley?
Parsley is easy to freeze. The sensitive aroma is preserved in the freezer and the parsley stays fresh for much longer. Freezing is also easy if you follow the steps below.

Freeze the parsley using this procedure:
- Wash the parsley gently with cold water.
- Dry them carefully with a kitchen towel.
- Now shape the parsley into the form in which you expect to use it after defrosting. Either chopped, in whole stalks, or just the leaves.
- Now put them in an airtight sealable container and make sure that it is also frost-proof. Tip:
- Ice cube molds are also suitable for chopped parsley; fill them with water beforehand and then place the parsley in them.
- Finally, place the parsley in the freezer.
Frozen parsley: how long does it keep?
As long as the cold chain is not broken, the parsley will keep in the freezer for several months. If necessary, it can be prepared as desired after a short thawing. You should not refreeze parsley that has already been thawed, but eat it straight away.
Harvesting and Freezing Fresh Parsley: How Long Should You Wait?
Theoretically, you can freeze fresh parsley straight away. After harvest, be sure to remove the wilted parts before freezing. However, you can store fresh parsley in the refrigerator for a few days before it wilts. However, if you can foresee from the outset that you have too many supplies, longer-term storage is suitable.

Freezing flat and curly parsley: are there differences?
The best known is probably the curly parsley. However, there is also the smooth version, which is also known as Italian parsley. Although the flat type has a more intense flavor, it is less commonly cultivated and used because it wilts much more quickly than curly parsley. Here it is particularly suitable to use the freezing method so that the parsley stays fresh for longer. There are no substitutes if you want to freeze curly or flat-leaf parsley.
