Freezing Aloe Vera – You Need to Know That

Freezing aloe vera – this is how it’s done

For skincare and internal use, the gel of the aloe vera plant, which is obtained from the leaves, is often used. You can freeze both the gel and the leaves. The valuable ingredients are largely retained.

  • If you have obtained gel from the leaves of aloe vera, you can fill this into ice cube trays and freeze it. In this way, it can be easily defrosted and used in portions.
  • You can also store the gel in a freezer container or freezer bag in the fridge. When you take it out, you can place the frozen gel on reddened or itchy skin and feel a pleasant cooling effect.
  • For a better storage life of the aloe vera gel, add some lemon juice before freezing.
  • To freeze the leaves of the plant, place them individually or together in a freezer bag or container.
  • Even after thawing, you can remove the gel from the leaves as usual.
