Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 4 slices of toast with cinnamon raisins
- 250 ml milk
- 2 tbsp sweet cream
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 dashes rum flavoring
- 8 tbsp butter
- 200 ml syrup (maple syrup)
- powdered sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
My Hollywood French Toast
Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla extract, and rum extract. Combine cinnamon and sugar and add 2/3 to the mixture. Slowly heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a heavy pan. Add a slice of bread to the mixture for about 5 seconds on each side. Place the bread in the pan and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar (as many slices will fit comfortably in the pan). Once the underside is golden brown, turn it over and sprinkle the other side with cinnamon and sugar. When the other side is golden brown, remove from the pan. Heat the plate in the microwave and sprinkle with powdered sugar (for decoration). Place 2 pieces of toast on top of each other in the middle. Place a teaspoon of butter in the center of the toast and drizzle with a little warmed maple syrup.
