French Toast Casserole with Apple

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 slices of toast
  • 200 g milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 40 g sugar
  • 20 g brown sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 large apple

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

delicious breakfast

Whisk together the milk, eggs, and sugar, then add the cinnamon. Place one slice of toast into each of four small baking dishes. Trim the slices slightly if necessary. Cut a large apple into 16 slices (or 2 smaller apples into 8 slices each). Layer the slices of toast and 2 apple slices alternately. Pour the milk mixture over the dishes. Sprinkle with brown sugar and a little vanilla. Bake at 200°C (convection oven) for 20 minutes. A delicious breakfast! Of course, you can vary the recipe: If you like, you can use pears or plums instead of apples. 300 kcal per serving.
