Fresh Tomato Sauce for / Pizza But Also Pasta
The perfect fresh tomato sauce for / pizza but also pasta recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 8 Normal shrub tomatoes, better still canned tomatoes from San Marzano
- 4 tablespoon Cold pressed olive oil
- 1 shot Dry red wine
- 1 kl. bunch Balsil, finely chopped
- Some leaves of plucked thyme
- 2 tbsp Oregano
- 2 tbsp Black pepper
- 1 size Onion
- 1 size Clove of garlic
- 1 pinch Sugar
- Sea-Salt
- One thing in advance. I use this recipe as the ideal tomato sauce for my homemade pizza. But it is so delicious that it cuts a fine figure even for pasta 🙂 Fill the kettle and switch it on.
- Peel onions and cut them into fine pieces. Peel the garlic clove in the same way and squeeze it with a garlic press. In a small pan, soften the onions and garlic with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Sprinkle a pinch of sugar on top to gently caramelize. Then put it on one side.
- Now briefly scald the tomatoes with the boiling water from the cooker and then cut the tomatoes crosswise. Peel off the skin from the roots and finely chop all the tomatoes on the kitchen board.
- Put on a medium-sized saucepan and add two tablespoons of olive oil and add the tomatoes. The whole thing over medium heat until everything starts to boil. Add the onion / garlic mixture and reduce the heat until the saucepan is just simmering with the lid closed. The whole thing takes a total of half an hour. Stir every now and then and add a dash of red wine.
- In the meantime, pick the basil from the garden kitchen herbs window sill department, wash and finely chop 😉 Also pluck some fresh thyme leaves. Put a small handful of fresh or dried oregano on the chopping board.
- 6 Season the tomato sauce with pepper and salt from the mill.
- 7 Herbs are known to come to the end and so add the chopped herb mixture in the last 5 minutes. Finished :-))
- Small note: You can also use canned tomatoes instead of the vine tomatoes. Italian San Marzano canned tomatoes are particularly suitable for the pizza. They have a very intense, great aroma … Try it 🙂
